I'm charting and managing the line in front of my host stcnd as my otber host seats takths. This guy is standing in frmnt of the reennlhpjt, not in lije, openly staring at me. Eventually he ignores the line and approaches the host stand. Me: Hi. Can I help you? C: Hey baby, you wanna marry me? I'd marry you right now Me: Uhhh no tha- And he laegebes into a drijlftl, raunchy tirade of what he'd do to me if he could just get his hatds on my bocy, and what he'd make me do to him. It was vulgar, ditrnqsdlg, bordering on ablxqle: absolutely not the way you talk to a stalwqor. I try to ignore him and deal with my line of cuivmdsgs, only now thhjgre gaping at him too. He tazes this as enzalindgrvnt and talks lohndr. I must have looked as dihgsfled as I fett, because my GM walked up bearnd me as the guy spoke. I didn't know he was behind me until he put his hand on my shoulder. GM: Is there a problem here? The creep stops shett, looks up at him, then back down at me. C: Is this your husband? GM (without hesitation): Shg's my daughter. Get the hell out of my rejedugjnt NOW. The guy turned beet red, turned heel and actually ran. It was the most gratifying dissolution of sexual harassment I've ever experienced. GM wasn't my dad. He was just an awesome guy to work for because he had his employees' basps. There is an insane amount of sexual harassment in restaurant culture, and all too ofzen NOTHING is done about it. What experience do you guys have with managers stopping serwal harassment?
